~ June 2023, I officially completed my first year of teaching and I feel fantastic! So many great things have been happening this month as well: I attended my first ever TXETA Summerfest in Tyler, TX last week where I attended a variety of wonderful workshops, and I have accepted the position of Theatre Teacher at Arbor Creek Middle School in Lewisville ISD! 

~ April 2023, wrapping up my first year of teaching, comes the final show of Pearson's theatre season, Zink: the Myth, the Legend, the Zebra. Though this production had to be on a shorter timeline due to STAAR testing, the kids had fun and worked hard to put on an excellent show that tells a truly incredible story about youth, life, death, and enjoying what you have.

~ February 2023, one of my beginner tech students advanced to the district level for UIL Theatrical Technical Design for his set designs and renderings of A Midsummer Night's Dream, and won 4th in the entire district of middle schoolers!

~ February 2023, my third professionally directed show also known as my first UIL One-Act Play show, Radium Girls,  performed and competed against five other Frisco ISD middle schools. The show won three acting awards (one honorable mention, and two all-star casts) and an outstanding technician award! I and the kids work on this beautiful show since November 2022 and we are now moving on to the Spring Show: Zink: the Myth, the Legend, the Zebra. 

~ January 2023, my second professionally directed show, Orphan Trains, performed at Pearson Middle School by my Theatre 2 class. Long hours were put in by that class and myself, and the result was a successful and proud moment for me.

~ November 2022, my first professionally directed musical performed at Pearson Middle School with a large company of my students, Into The Woods Jr., which was a massive hit with the kids and the community of Frisco!

~ July 2022, I have been hired by Frisco ISD to be the Theatre Teacher at Pearson Middle School.

~ On Saturday, May 14th, at noon, I walked across the stage as a Summa Cum Laude graduate of UNT. My major was in Theatre with Teaching Certification, and my minor was in English with a concentration in Creative Writing. 

~ On May 9th, 2022, I began substituting as an elementary theatre teacher at Country Place Elementary in Carrollton-Farmer's Branch ISD. The position is long term and I finish on May 26th. This has given me not only valuable insight into teaching younger grades but it's also allowed me to hone my classroom management skills and disciplinary plans to the point where my confidence has grown immensely in the classroom with younger children. I feel ready to take on any grade level, including middle school, and have a better grasp on how to teach and introduce theatre prior to the high school level.
